What are the refractory clay bricks properties and applications?
Refractory clay bricks belong to weakly acidic refractory materials. The refractoriness of refractory clay bricks is above 1600°C, but the initial temperature of load softening is very low, only 1250-1300°C, which makes refractory clay bricks suitable for many high-temperature thermal equipment even though their refractoriness is not too high. Refractory clay bricks have good resistance to rapid cooling and rapid heating, and the number of water cooling at 850 ° C can reach 10 to 25 times. Refractory clay bricks can resist the corrosion of weak acid slag, and the resistance to alkaline slag is slightly weaker. Increasing the content of Al2O3 can improve the ability to resist alkaline slag.
Because refractory clay refractory bricks have a low load softening temperature and shrink at high temperatures, their thermal conductivity is 15% to 20% lower than that of silica bricks, and their mechanical strength is also worse than that of silica bricks. Therefore, refractory clay bricks can only be used for secondary coke ovens. Important parts, such as regenerator sealing wall, small flue lining bricks and regenerator checker bricks, furnace door lining bricks, furnace roof and riser lining bricks, etc.
